Letter From Our President
It is with immense pride and deep gratitude that I address you as the newly elected President of the Central Florida Chapter of Women In Defense. As a woman who has navigated the challenges and opportunities within the defense and national security industry, I am honored to lead this vibrant community of trailblazers, innovators, and leaders. Together, we will continue to advance our mission to empower, inspire, and elevate women in this critical field.
Our chapter, nestled in the heart of Central Florida’s thriving hub for military and defense contractors, is uniquely positioned to make a transformative impact. The Research Park area pulses with innovation, and our members—professionals, mentors, and advocates—are at the forefront of shaping the future of national security.
As your President, I am committed to harnessing this energy to strengthen our community, amplify our voices, and create meaningful opportunities for growth and connection. The cornerstone of my vision for our chapter is deepening our community outreach and volunteerism.
Volunteerism, in particular, demonstrates our dedication to serving the broader Central Florida community. It also fosters comradery within our chapter and provides a powerful platform to showcase the strength, expertise, and compassion of women in defense. I look forward to developing stronger ties with local organizations, educational institutions, and military communities to promote career pathways for women and inspire the next generation of leaders. Whether it’s partnering with schools to introduce young women to STEM fields or collaborating with veteran organizations to support transitioning service members, our outreach efforts will reflect our mission to uplift and empower.
From organizing mentorship programs to hosting workshops that equip women with the tools to thrive in defense and national security careers, our volunteer initiatives will create lasting impact. I envision events that bring us together—whether it’s a community service day or industry networking event—to build a stronger, more inclusive network.
As we move forward, I encourage each of you to share your ideas, talents, and passion. Our chapter thrives because of your commitment to our mission and your willingness to step up. Let us work together to create a calendar of events that reflect the needs of our community and the aspirations of our members. Your voice matters, and I am here to listen, support, and lead alongside you. Together, we will continue to break barriers, foster innovation, and advance women in the defense and national security industry. I am excited for what lies ahead and deeply honored to serve as your President. Let’s make this chapter a beacon of opportunity, collaboration, and empowerment for all.
With gratitude and determination,
Kristi Evans
